Reclaiming Her Heart

Chapter 1282 I Know, You Are Not Raymond

"Raymond, I'm starving," Selena said.

She fumbled for the nearby staircase, trying to make her way down.

Raymond approached and scooped her up in his arms.

"I'll carry you down, so you don't trip."

"Okay."

She nodded, letting him carry her. She caught that familiar, comforting scent on him again.

When they reached the living room downstairs, she reached out and felt the table.

Soon, a light dinner was placed in front of her.

Raymond held the spoon, "I'll feed you."

"Okay."

She smiled and opened her mouth to eat.

After she finished, Raymond helped her back upstairs to rest.

"Raymond, didn't you say it's daytime now? Can I sit on the couch for a while?"

She wasn't ready to sleep yet.

"Selena, you need more rest for your eyes to heal faster."

"Alright."

She didn't argue further. Once she was in the bedroom and seated on the bed, she suddenly wrapped her arms around his waist.

"I can't sleep alone. Can you stay with me?"

"I'll be right back. I have some work to finish."

"Then go ahead."

Selena let go of his waist and listened to his footsteps as he left.

She frowned, taking a deep breath to catch the scent in the room. The air was filled with that same incense.

She crouched down slowly, running her fingers over the floor, and froze.

She had designed Manston Manor herself, remembering every detail, especially the flooring. She had personally gone to Ridgefield to find this rare wood, which sold out quickly each year.

The room she was in now was eerily similar to Manston Manor. The bed's comfort, the door, the dining table details-all identical.

The materials were from international brands, easy to replicate, but the flooring was unique.

This wasn't Manston Manor. Someone had recreated a house just like it.

The man earlier wasn't Raymond. Someone was impersonating him.

The scent on him was the same as Raymond's, but with an artificial undertone.

Selena panicked, her face changing color, but she continued to explore the room. She found that the layout was exactly like Manston Manor, even down to the curtain fabric.

If she hadn't noticed the flooring, she wouldn't have known the truth.

Her palms were sweaty, but she lay down, pretending she hadn't discovered anything.

When she woke up, the room was still empty.

She hated not being able to see anything and felt her way to the bathroom.

Everything in the bathroom was identical to Manston Manor. Who was this man keeping her here?

Was it K, or someone else?

Her hands trembled slightly, but she had to stay calm.

After freshening up, she took a deep breath and made her way downstairs.

She heard sounds from the kitchen and Raymond's voice, asking the chef how to chop vegetables.

She felt her way to the kitchen door and heard him ask, "Selena, why don't you sleep a bit longer?"noveldrama

He sounded just like Raymond, even the pauses in his speech.

Selena was anxious but kept her composure.

"Are you cooking yourself? Can I help? You can teach me."

"Sure."

He guided her into the kitchen, washed her hands, and placed a knife in her hand.

He smiled, treating this as a playful moment between them.

Selena asked, "What are we making?"

"Mexican food."

As soon as he finished speaking, Selena turned and stabbed the knife into his shoulder.

If she could see, she would have aimed for his heart.

The maid in the kitchen screamed, "Mr. Montague!"

Selena coldly gripped the knife, her brow furrowed. "I know you're not Raymond."

Raymond took the knife from her hand, wiped the blood from her palm with a wet wipe, and had the bodyguard take her to the couch.

When Victor arrived, he heard Selena asking, "Who are you? This isn't Manston Manor." Raymond was sweating, leaning against the couch after removing his shirt.

John was frantic. "Dr. Barnes, does this need stitches?"

Victor nodded and began stitching the wound expertly.

Selena finally realized something was wrong. Her mind was in chaos, and she called out, "John?"

"Ms. Fair, I'm here."

Selena couldn't see faces, but the voice was exactly like John's. Were these people just good at mimicking, or was she mistaken?

But she was sure the floor felt different from Manston Manor's.

She crouched down again, running her fingers over the floor.

She froze. How could this be...

Now the floor felt exactly like Manston Manor's again.

So, the man she had just hurt-was he really Raymond?
