He had never had such a strong desire for a woman before. Wyatt chuckled as he wondered whether or not he was poisoned.

"Oh Wyatt," He thought, "The h*ll is your pride? You're doing all this, for a woman? When had you been so humble, hmm? Never! So she's a little bit more beautiful than the others, bah! There are others more stunning than her! Don't you usually turn away a woman like her? What's changed? Why her? Why her?!"

He needed his pride back, but it was long gone. Waverly came, and when she left, his pride left with her.

Why, though? Why? Was it because he had been intimate with her? They had been intimate, yet he had never had the right to call her his own.

He didn't know when she snuck into his heart, but what he knew was that he was bewitched. Really bewitched. He wanted her. He couldn't deny that he wanted her. Even though right then, she was probably lying under that d*mn officer, doing that disgusting thing with that d*mn b*stard!

He clenched his fists, loosened them, then clenched them again. He closed his eyes, but then images of her haunted his mind. He felt something missing from his heart. Wyatt's face fell as his expression darkened.

Does she treat other men like that, too? Does she just barge into their lives, mesmerize them, and leave them yearning for her? Oh, Waverly, she shouldn't have broken into Wyatt's life. What has she done to him?

Why?

Everything was going so well. She was supposed to be his! He never should've let her go. Never!

Wyatt gnashed his teeth and started resenting himself. When did it start? What did that woman do to his heart?

Memories showered his mind as he shuddered. Everything started going wrong after Raynee's d*mn friends bullied his precious little widow. She changed after that. She used to be so emotional. When he bothered her, she wouldn't have hesitated to yell at him. Even when he dragged her to the club, she was so upset about it, but when things went wrong, she still stood by his side.

He knew she didn't hate him as much as she claimed to. Otherwise, why else would she compromise so much, for his sake?

"Waverly-"

Wyatt murmured her name unconsciously. He was going through an emotional rollercoaster. He wanted to go to her, but his phone rang abruptly. That pulled him back to reality. He peeked at the caller ID. "Raynee". Scorn immediately took over his lovesickness. He answered the phone, nevertheless.

"Yes?"

"Wyatt, have you heard about what happened to Joanne and Priya? Was there some kind of misunderstanding? They're still unmarried, and how are they going to face society after such an incident? That news, it's ruining their reputation! You're close with Trevor, right? Can you help them deal with the news? You know we're close friends-"

"They've been in touch with me for so many years! They're my best friends!" "Wyatt, please, I'm begging you!"

Wyatt already had a chip on his shoulder, and the mentioning of Raynee's b*tch friends was just the last straw.

"Oh, so you know how badly some nasty news can affect someone, too, huh? Why didn't you think about it when you had them strip her, hmm?"

After realizing how Waverly had changed after that incident, Wyatt was even more worked out about it. He initially felt a little sorry for Raynee, but now those petty feelings were all gone. His guilt had been replaced by contempt.

"Raynee, I've really underestimated you!"

She took advantage of his remorse and asked for some time to "cool down". At the same time, she was asking her friends and her crush to stand up for her behind his back! And all this time she never had to do anything. She just sat there and watched as the drama unfold, and perhaps every once in a while she'd have to put on a pitiful look to make herself look like the victim in the play!

And after so many years, she wouldn't at least do it with him. And what excuse did she give him? "What if I get pregnant?" He had tried many ways and proposed many solutions, but she was just so stubborn.

As a dancer, her figure was the most important thing to her, so she couldn't get pregnant. That was why she was reluctant to agree to his family's request.

But of course she could do whatever she wanted! He was the one bearing the consequences of her waywardness. How many people had tried to talk him into breaking up with her? To be frank, he occasionally thought that she was just not fated to be champion, but he didn't say that. He didn't want to hurt her. He had questioned neither her skills nor her professionalism. He just wanted her to come home.

Looking back at their relationship, he was always the one giving in, the one accommodating her. He did it all for their relationship. Of course, he, never thought he'd fall for Waverly He never wanted to fall for Waverly, but it just happened. He had known Raynee for way longer, but his desire to possess Waverly was way stronger. Wyatt's sudden burst of emotions made Raynee's face pale. "What do you mean?" She mumbled, "Could it be that...Wyatt, was it you?"

She was posing a question, but she sounded certain. On the other end of the phone, Raynee widened her eyes in disbelief.
