Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 1507

For some reason, the mere sight of him emptied Waverly's mind. She felt a piercing pain in her heart as her pale lips twitched.

"I wanted this, didn't I?" She started mocking herself in her heart, "He doesn't even have the time or energy to look at me anymore, but why does this feel so terrible?"

Thousands of needles seemed to stab onto Waverly's heart. She then noticed Seth, who had narrowed his eyes and was scrutinizing her, which only made her feel more unsettled.

No matter how hard she tried to deny it, Waverly couldn't change the fact that- Wyatt was the closest man she had ever been with.

Not even her marriage with Franklin could compare to her relationship with Wyatt! However, it only took her two seconds to recover. "Come on!"

Waverly helped Jake back to the apartment. She was just helping Jake because he was ill.

She would, in fact, do that to anyone unwell. Despite that, no one saw her as a thoughtful person in general. People just saw her as a considerate girlfriend.

In the banquet hall, Wyatt stood from a place where he could properly see the door. He watched as the couple held onto each other from afar. The goblet in his hand trembled as his veins started throbbing at the sight of the "lovely" couple. He felt like crushing the tiny goblet in his big hand.

Jake rarely fell sick, and this time, his illness was quite severe. He had already gotten an injection for his cold, but he was still woozy, and he grew more uncomfortable each minute.

Waverly got him some anti-inflammatories and cold remedies.

"Take your meds, and sleep soundly. We'll go to the hospital and get you an IV if things don't get better tomorrow! No negative thoughts, alright? To the pure, all things are pure; but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure, but both their mind and their conscience are defiled. You're a pure man, so things will work out, and you'll be back in no time! The doctor says your illness is directly linked to your stress, so don't worry so much-"

"Jake! Be optimistic! The evil man will not go unpunished! They won't get away with it!"

Waverly handed him the cup of medicine. She then held his hand tight. All of a sudden, a weird thought flashed across her mind. She suddenly realized that troubles had always followed the men she had associated herself with. She wondered if she was a jinx. Her heart sank as she came to the speculation.

Jake used to be an outstanding captain. He was always ahead of the curve, and he called the shots amongst the younger generation. He was destined to have a bright future ahead of him.

Until he met her. When she came into his life, misfortunes followed.

As Waverly thought those awful thoughts, she felt someone squeezing her hand. When she came back to her senses, a warm palm had already adhered to her cheek.

"Waverly, I never should've fretted you like this! I'll handle this well, and I'll get better. Then, I'll be the one taking care of you. I won't be so depressed, I'll be okay! Don't worry-"

Jake couldn't bear seeing how bitter his girlfriend was. While Waverly thought herself a jinx, Jake thought her a blessing from God.

"It's been a long day. You go home and rest, too! The later it gets, the more dangerous the world becomes!" Jake coughed.

He wanted to send her back, but his illness wouldn't allow it!

"It's still early," Waverly smiled, "I'll leave when you sleep!"

She then helped him lie down and tucked him in, "Don't take off your clothes. Sweating will help get rid of those toxins in your body! It might be hot, but it's for the better! Go to sleep, Jake."

Perhaps it was the injection, or maybe it was the meds, Jake suddenly felt exhausted. His eyelids twitched as he couldn't make out what Waverly was saying anymore. He didn't fight back the drowsiness, though. He just closed his eyes and muttered.

"Okay..."

Waverly was ready to leave when she saw how messy Jake's room was. His clothes piled on the sofa. He had just been there a few days, but it was as though a great battle had occurred in that very room! Waverly couldn't take it. She put down her handbag and helped tidy up Jake's room. She also threw all his clothes into the washing machine for him.

Men were a puzzle to her. It'd take one second to get the washing machine working, so why procrastinate on such a petty matter?noveldrama

Waverly stayed and cleaned up till past ten o'clock. She was sweaty and flat-out tired. She subsequently sat down on the sofa as her body gave up. She just wanted to sit there forever and never move.

Suddenly, the man on the bed started humming. Waverly pushed herself back to her feet and strolled to his side.

"Hot, hot, water..."

She noticed the beads of sweat on the man's forehead. He seemed uncomfortable as his breath was heavy.

Waverly dashed out and got a wet towel to help cool Jake down. She even poured some water down the muddled man's throat.

Waverly curled up on the sofa and took care of him. Turns out she was going to leave any sooner.

Wyatt was attending an event in the hotel, but he sure wasn't there to socialize. His apathetic expression was enough to keep people away from him. He was so upset that it was as if someone in the hall had owed him several hundred billion dollars. However, he maintained his elegance even while he downed the bitter wine all by himself.

Seth attended to a few businesses before approaching Wyatt.

"Wyatt, the acquisition is settled! It's just some small home appliance, and the division is basically done. Was it really necessary,

though?"

Why spend so much money on an old, poor factory? There were a ton of competitors in the washing machine industry. Even if they were to join in, they wouldn't be making much. Therefore, Seth wasn't really that interested in their most recent acquisition.

"When doing business, if we want to make money, we'd have to be either specialized of diversified! Our mobile phone network is a specialized business? Don't underestimate this home appliance industry. One of these only costs a few hundred dollars, but every single house needs them! They're more important than phones! We've got old customers already, so it'll be easier than creating another new brand! It's worth it!"

"Hmm..."

Seth immediately grasped Wyatt's mind. It was just the beginning! Wyatt was

planning to take over the home appliance industry!

If that happened, they'd be earning tons.

Seth was about to say something else when he noticed Wyatt's soul drifting off

again. His gaze was fixed on the door.

Seth couldn't help but roll his eyes, "Ahem..."

If he wanted to go, he should just go. If he wanted to know, he should just ask.

What was Wyatt doing, standing there, being an emo kid?

Wyatt came back to his senses and put down the goblet in his hand, "If we're done, let's go."

Wyatt walked toward the door, and Seth followed a couple steps behind.

When they were about to leave, though, Wyatt casually asked, "Are there any other events in this hotel today?"

It was already so late. Of course, they wouldn't be there for dinner!

The corners of Seth's lips twitched as he felt like rolling his eyes. "I knew you'd ask!" He muttered secretly.

Wyatt could've just straight out asked. He didn't have to beat around the bush! Seth then cleared his throat before answering.

"According to my understanding, no! This hotel only has sixteen floors, and some of its buildings are actually apartments. For example, that police officer had just signed a long-term rental contract here at Dragon International for apartment 3306 in Building B!"

Seth didn't say it out loud, but he was hinting that those two were already living together!

Wyatt stopped dead in his tracks. Ice seemed to form on his face as the green veins on his forehead started throbbing. He was like a bear with a sore head! Before Seth could do anything, though, Wyatt's soul seemed to reconnect with his body as he continued walking forward.

As they walked out of the hotel, Seth followed behind Wyatt. After ensuring that Wyatt had no intention of turning back, Seth ran passed him to get the car.

Neither talked on the way back home. Wyatt's face was green with anger, and even Seth, who had been by Wyatt's side for years, didn't

know what he was thinking. The et

atmosphere in the car was

weinet

suffocating. Seth drove slowly. Of course, it was late, so driving slowly equals driving safely, but he did that

mainly because he was afraid that Wyatt would suddenly change his mind.

When they stopped at the red light, a low voice sounded behind Seth, "Turn right!

Stop the car. You, take a taxi back!"

"Oh?"

Seth subconsciously turned around and immediately understood, "Yes, sir!"

Wyatt couldn't bear it!

As Seth waited for a taxi, the black Rolls Royce took a U-turn.

The Dragon International Hotel had two buildings, Buildings A and B. B3306 was

on a higher floor, and Wyatt couldn't tell which room had its lights on. He parked

his car on the street nearby and rolled down the window as his gaze was fixed on

Building B. He then fished a cigar out of his pocket.

She was probably still there!

He had been staring at the door for the whole night. He couldn't have missed her!

Wyatt suddenly recalled the way she held onto that man earlier. He felt a thorn in

his heart.

Why?

He had tried forcing her into it, but she'd rebel to the very end. Now that she had a different man, why had she become so easygoing?

His Waverly was soiled! The woman he wanted was filthy!

Thousands of thoughts swarmed his mind. He was Wyatt Johnson,

after all. He knew he could go in and stop what he detested. Or he could

even get a new woman, there was plenty of fishes in the water. He didn't like dirty women. He didn't like used women. He was Wyatt Johnson, after all, and he wanted the best.

He had two choices in front of him, but he couldn't make up his mind.

He could stop it from happening this time, but would it change anything?

He could give up on her, but she was glued to his heart, and giving up on her meant cutting off his heart. What kind of man could live without a beating heart? Wyatt suddenly felt out of breath, but he still slipped out of the car-
