Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance

Chapter 1109

As the day turned to dusk, Mia and Annie planned a meet-up for a buffet dinner. Mia, always a food enthusiast, was excited, and Annie, who lived solo back at her place, didn't have as wide a social circle as Mia, who seemed to make friends wherever she went. So, dinner together was the perfect plan.

With her son, who had an even bigger appetite than she did, Mia asked, "I haven't seen Conner in ages, why didn't he tag along?"

"Oh, he's been swamped lately," Annie replied. "But trust me, once he's free, he'll be right over to annoy me."

"I wish my husband would get caught up in work and stay away. That'd be something," Mia mused.

Annie chuckled, "Maybe I should have Conner call Andre and get him out of the house for a couple of days?"

"Well, I wouldn't mind that one bit," Mia laughed.

"Can your little one eat meat?" Annie asked, grabbing some fresh cuts from the buffet.

Mia, guiding her son, picked up a bowl of veggies. "He's more of a greens guy." Henry wasn't thrilled with this and threw a bit of a fit... but eventually, he had to settle for a tummy full of veggies.

Later that evening, Andre came to pick up Mia and Henry.

The moment Henry saw his dad, he broke into tears, complaining about how he didn't get to eat any meat. It was all gobbled up by his mom.

Clinging to his dad, his big teary eyes cast an accusatory glance at his mom and godmother, upset he didn't even get a nibble.

"Annie, hop in. Let Andre give you a lift back to the base," Mia offered.

Annie shook her head, "No, I'll walk it off. Ate way too much meat today; a walk will help."

As she left, Annie waved at the little one, "Bye, Henry. Godmommy's heading out." Despite the tears, Henry waved back with his tiny hand.noveldrama

In the car, Mia tried to console him, "With those tiny teeth, you wouldn't have managed the meat anyway. Don't stress your tummy."

She pulled out a couple of snack packs from the glove box to keep Henry occupied, finally easing his grumpiness.

The night brought a gentle breeze, carrying the fresh scent of leaves. Summer had arrived.

Andre took his family to check out the ecological park funded by the Cedillo Group, named after Henry. Though it wasn't open yet, its shape was taking form.

Andre looked over the site, noting the new railings along the riverbank. People were jogging, saplings freshly planted, and benches newly set. A path lined with ginkgo trees, their leaves a vibrant green.

The couple sat by the river, enjoying the soft breeze of an early summer night.

Nearby, Henry stood on a bench, joyfully howling into the night, "Awoo!"

Mia smiled, "Which animal are you pretending to be now, sweetheart?"

Henry, free and unrestrained, laughed and shouted, playing without a care in the world. Even those at a distance could hear his sweet, playful voice.

Mia leaned into Andre, resting her head on his shoulder, when Henry clambered onto his dad's back, wrapping his arms around Andre's neck insisting on a head-to-head hug.

Andre held Mia close with one arm and supported Henry with the other. Despite

his neck being squeezed a bit tight, he felt perfectly content.

Madison once remarked, "Henry's just like Mia, always glued to Andre."

Mia, reaching back to hold Henry's little waist, asked, "Henry, do you love mommy or mommy more?"

Andre: "..."

"Love baba boo!"

Mia turned to her son, not too pleased, "Dad wasn't on the list, kiddo."
