Chapter 655
Lincoln's body froze for a moment before he slowly lifted his head. His eyes traced the contours of Nathalie's face her eyes, her demeanor-whisking him back through the years to the girl who had once held his hand, dreaming of a lifetime together.
"Are you the daughter I have with Maya?"
Nathalie nodded, "Yes."
Lincoln's eyes, previously dry, turned misty as he clutched Nathalie's hand with a firm grip. "Are you really my daughter?" His eyes brimmed with overwhelming joy.
Nathalie gave a gentle nod. She had once craved the warmth of family, longing for her parents to be by her side. Yet during those times of deep yearning, she often felt trapped in a pit of despair.
Now, having discovered her biological father, she felt joy, but it wasn't the same excitement and anticipation she knew as a child. Instead, after many betrayals from loved ones, she was cautious, unsure about Lincoln too.noveldrama
Would he be the loving father she needed?
It seemed he would be.
Lincoln gazed at his daughter with loving eyes, unable to look away. Tears filled his eyes as he asked, "You've grown so much. How have you been all these years without me?"
Nathalie, recalling the doctor's advice, downplayed her struggles: "I've been doing well."
"That's good, that's good," Lincoln replied.
The doctor watched the father and daughter for a while. Despite Nathalie's attempts to keep her emotions in check and focus on the positives, Lincoln's face was a mix of emotions.
The doctor stepped in gently, "Ms. Nathalie, the patient needs to rest. Perhaps you could come back tomorrow."
But Lincoln held onto Nathalie's hand, "Vivian, don't worry about me. Make sure you eat well at home; you're too thin."
Nathalie stood up, her eyes brimming with tears, and managed to say, "Okay."
She hurried out of the room, and by the time she reached the door, tears were already streaming down her face.
She overheard Lincoln gently scolding the doctor, "I finally got to see my daughter, and you sent her away."
The doctor replied with sincerity, "You've just come through a serious illness; you need to stay calm. It's for your own health."
Lincoln, in a slightly playful tone, said, "But patients need to be happy too. You have no idea how thrilled am to see my daughter. I feel sq energized now. Next time she
comes, don't send here!
The doctor reassured him, "Of course."
Lincoln couldn't hide his joy: "I feel so blessed. wake up from a nap, and life gifts me such a beautiful daughter But she's too thin. Why is she so thin? Doctor, could you get me some cookbooks? I want to learn how to help her build up her strength while I'm here."
"And, it seems like she dresses seems
simply. She's not wearing any fancy jewelry. Is she having money troubles have money, a lot of it. I want to give it all to her. Find out how much the medical bills are, and the rest should go to her."
...
Nathalie couldn't keep it in any longer and quickly left.
Back in the car, her emotions were still swirling.
Lizzy asked her, "Sis, why are you crying?"
Nathalie wiped her tears and flashed a bright smile, "Lizzy, I'm just really happy.
Turns out I'm someone my parents hold dear to their hearts."
What do you think?
