Reborn From Oblivion

Chapter 654

Nathalie made her way to Lincoln's private hospital room. Standing at the door, she took a deep breath, trying to calm her nerves. Then she gave the door a gentle knock.noveldrama

From inside, a deep yet frail voice called out, "Come in."

As Nathalie slowly pushed the door open, she caught a glimpse of him through the small opening. There he was, lying on the bed, with eyes deep and intense, though a bit wary.

When he saw Nathalie, his expression turned to one of surprise. "Miss, you must've gotten the wrong room. I've been sick for over twenty years, and I can't say I know such a young, beautiful lady like you." He said this with a warm smile.

Nathalie walked over, pulled up a chair beside his bed, and plopped down. "Take a good look at me. Do I look familiar?"

Lincoln studied her face but shook his head. "I really don't recognize you. But somehow, you do seem a bit familiar."

Nathalie was confused. She had been here before and had told him she was his daughter. Was he pretending not to remember, or was he genuinely confused?

Just then, the attending doctor came in, noticing Nathalie's bewildered look. He offered an explanation, "Ms. Nathalie, during your last visit, Mr. Lincoln was under sedation, which dulled his senses. He wouldn't have been aware of anything outside himself."

"Oh, that explains it!" Nathalie felt a sense of relief. She reintroduced herself, "Mr. Lincoln, my name is Nathalie..."

Suddenly, Lincoln grabbed her hand, excitement in his eyes. "You said you've visited before?"

Nathalie nodded, a bit startled by his reaction.

"Then you must know me, right?"

"Yes." Nathalie was taken aback by his intensity.

"If you know me, then you must know my family. Where are they? Why haven't

they come to see me since I woke up?" Lincoln asked, a hint of desperation in his voice.

Nathalie looked at him, "I... I'm here to see you, aren't I?"

Lincoln gave a helpless chuckle, "Miss, don't play games with me. I want to see my parents and my... wife..."

He seemed to remember something, and his emotions became even more heightened, "My wife was pregnant. I don't even know how she and our child are doing."

As he spoke, tears began to form in his eyes.

Nathalie had rarely seen a man show such vulnerability. It

comforted her a bit that her father despite everything, immediately thought of his wife and child after waking. He wasn't the heartless man people made him out to be.

"You still remember your wife and daughter!" Nathalie felt a wave of emotions wash over her.

Lincoln urgently said, "Miss, can you help me find them? My wife's name is Maya, and my daughter is Vivian Before my accident, my daughter hadn't even been born. I have no idea how they've been all these years."

Tears welled up in Nathalie's eyes. She finally understood her own name. She wasn't called Nellie; she was Vivian. Her name was a testament to her parents' love, proof that she was wanted and cherished.

So, she wasn't the unwanted child that Miranda had cursed her to be.

The attending doctor stepped closer, gently reminding Nathalie, "Ms. Nathalie, Mr. Lincoln has just recovered. He needs to stay calm."

Nathalie nodded, keeping the devastating news about her mother's fate to herself. She held back her own grief and managed a smile for Lincoln, "Look at me, don't I remind you of Vivian?"
