Selena had a pretty good idea of what Abraham was about to say, but his words still hit her like a ton of bricks. His ambitions were sky-high. He wasn't just aiming to take Everett down; he wanted to swallow up Bennett Corporation whole.

She couldn't help but throw some cold water on his fiery plans. "Even if Everett bites the dust, the Bennett family has tons of heirs. Aren't you being a bit too cocky, Mr. Abraham?"

Abraham gave a slight smirk. "In this generation, apart from Everett, the rest aren't worth losing sleep over. Maybe the next generation, like your son, could shake things up, but he's just a kid. It'll be ages before he's in the picture."

Everett was a standout, while the rest of the family either wasted their wealth on fun and games or had dreams bigger than their abilities, leaving chaos in their wake. Wasn't Everett the same way? His cold-hearted approach had made him a success in business, but in his personal life, he kept letting people down.

Abraham stared directly at Selena. "So, are you in? After all Everett's put you through over the years, aren't you itching for a bit of payback?"

Selena tilted her head slightly and gave a soft smile. She didn't shut him down, replying lightly, "I'll think about it."

"Good to hear." Abraham wasn't surprised by her response. Selena was sharp, and with her heart already shattered by Everett, she could easily cut ties with him just like she did with Joy.

"I'll be waiting for your decision. Don't keep me hanging too long."

With that, Abraham headed out. Downstairs, Levi was quick to open the car door

for him, making sure he got in without a hitch. The car slid into the flow of traffic.

Later that night, Everett dropped by to see the kids again. After spending some quality time with them and not spotting Selena, he asked his son about her whereabouts.

Mateo said, "Mom headed straight to the study to work as soon as she got back. She hasn't come out yet."

Everett ruffled his son's hair. "You take your sister to bed. I'll go check on your mom."
