Bride To Be Not Me (Janice and Simon)

Chapter 240

The person Janice had appointed to oversee the training institute was none other than Marie.

In Greenfield City's crochet industry, very few people had met her, and no one knew about her connection to Prosper Stitch Group or Janice.

Janice spent the entire day resting and working remotely from home.

By the afternoon, Sunny sent a message confirming that the client had agreed and the payment had already been processed.

Since the young lady was so decisive, Janice knew she couldn't afford to delay. Creating a complete bridal ensemble was a detailed and time-consuming process.

She reached out to the client to discuss any specific design preferences or crochet styles.

The young lady on the other end was bright and cheerful. "Hello, Ms. Smith! I don't have any particular requests-just as long as the set is personally crocheted by you!"

"Do you have any preferences for Artisan Crochet, Broomstick Crochet, or Capital Crochet?"

"Whichever you think is best!"

"Understood, Ms. Westwood."

Janice jotted down her contact information and immediately began sketching. Designing required both artistic flair and technical expertise.

"Janice?"

Janice looked up in surprise, her face brightening. "Jay? Why didn't you tell me you were coming home?"

"It's Memorial Day."

Was it really Memorial Day already?

Realizing how quickly time had passed, Janice asked Laura to prepare dinner early and even requested two of Jacob's favorite dishes.

"Are you sketching designs?" Jacob glanced over. "You've just recovered. Don't sit for too long. Let me help. Just tell me the key elements you want included."

Though Jacob studied finance, he had years of sketching experience from childhood, making him surprisingly skilled at design illustrations.

"Flames. I've already mapped out the framework, so see where they'd fit best."

Jacob examined the design carefully. "A red and green color scheme? It has a certain olden vibe to it. I've always found old-school bridal gowns to be so elegant. Adding a train would make it even more striking."

While Jacob refined the wedding gown sketch, Janice sat next to him, focused on designing the matching veil.

They collaborated seamlessly, with Janice occasionally glancing over to ensure their designs were in harmony.

"Jay, you still have two or three years left in grad school, right?" she asked.

Hearing this, Jacob looked up and paused for a moment. "Janice, I'm thinking of doing a part-time graduate program. That way, I can start working with you sooner and help lighten the load. I don't need a salary; I'm mainly looking for experience. I've got enough savings."

Janice frowned slightly. "If you're going to study, focus on your studies. You can't split your attention like that."

"Hands-on experience is far more valuable than just reading textbooks," Jacob countered.

"But my work is all crochet. There's nothing finance-related for you to do."

Finance was all about decision-making, risk management, and investment strategies-tasks that had little to do with her field.

"I've got it all figured out," Jacob said confidently.

Janice smiled. "Look at you, Jacob. All grown up and already thinking about making money."

Jacob looked at her seriously. "Janice, I'll make sure you have an amazing life. I'll work as hard as I can!"

Having been supported by Janice for so many years, he had always felt a deep sense of guilt.

That was why he pushed himself so hard. He was always at the top of his class and had never missed out on a single scholarship.

Janice reached over and ruffled his hair. "I believe in you."noveldrama

When Edward learned that Jacob was home, he intentionally postponed his meeting and arrived an hour and a half earlier than

planned. As soon as he walked in, he

headed straight for the study.

Inside, Janice and Jacob sat side-by-side, surrounded by design sketches. They

were completely immersed in their discussion.

Jacob noticed him immediately and greeted him loudly, "Hey, Edward! You're the

best brother-in-law ever!"

The reason he said that was

because Jacob knew Refined

Threads Co. had been transferred to Janice's name, and he was certain Edward had played a part in it.

Given that Edward didn't mind Janice's past with Simon and had even helped her take revenge, Jacob thought it was only right to acknowledge him this way.

The sudden address left Janice momentarily speechless.

Edward was also briefly taken aback but quickly regained his composure, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "Hello, Jacob. When did you get here?"

"This morning," Jacob replied, standing up. "I'll leave you two to talk."

"I was just stopping by to check-in. Go ahead and continue your discussion,"

Edward said, exiting the study first.

He had already asked Harrison to keep an eye on Jacob's academic progress to ensure that Janice wouldn't have to worry. Edward. knew Jacob was nearing graduation and had chosen a part-time master's

program.

At dinner that evening, Edward asked, "So, Jacob, are you interested in joining

Prosper Stitch Group?"

Janice looked up. "What?"

Jacob's eyes brightened. "Edward, would that be too much trouble?"

The warmth in his voice was music to Edward's ears. If he couldn't even help

Jacob with a job, how could he call himself Janice's protector?

"Come if you want, but you'll start as a secretary."
