Alec’s

Chapter 204

"I'm not sure," I answer him truthfully.

Jason goes to speak, but Alec cuts him off. "We are going off-topic."

"Right," I reply awkwardly while facing him.

"Back to the premonition you had."

"Well, I thought it was a dream until Raven made me realize that it might just be a premonition," I tell them. "I couldn't see her face, but I knew her."

"Okaaay," Jason drags the words, seeming confused by where I was going with this.

“Like I said, I couldn't see her face, but I could see her wings. They were like mine, only hers were black."

Their confused looks turned into shock as I delivered the last part. Alec's eyes were glued to me. His hands clenched and lips slightly parted.

Raven sat quietly as she seemed lost in thought. Knowing her, she was trying to unravel the mystery of everything that has been happening.

"So, you dreamed of the same woman that has been making hybrids?" Micah asks, as if he is trying to make sense of everything.

"Yes"

"I get why it could have caught you off guard when you realized the woman you dreamed of turned out to be the one making hybrids, but I don't see how that makes it a premonition when it just revealed a truth," Alec says, before adding, "And it isn't that bad"

I glare at him before continuing. "It wasn't bad until she drove a dagger right through my fucking heart. Not to mention the blood-soaked ground and dead bodies I saw before she killed me."noveldrama

There is silence, their eyes going wide.

"You saw yourself d-die?" Alec stammers the words as the weight of what I just told them settles heavily in the air.

Something like fear crosses his eyes and face, but the emotion is gone before I can decipher what it was. Within seconds, he was composed, and his emotions closed off.

I don't give them time to mull over what I told them. Instead, I tell them everything. Laying everything on the table.

When I am done, Alec is leaning back in his chair, Micah and Raven are seated, and Jason is pacing.

"You didn't tell me about Nyx revealing that she has a twin."

Raven's eyes shoot daggers at net

"I got the memory yesterday and confronted Nyx this morning," I explain to her. "With everything that has happened since I woke up, I haven't really gotten time to tell you."

She nods her head in understanding and I breathe a sigh of relief.

"There is a lot to unpack," Micha comments, but doesn't go any further.

The room is shrouded in silence. It isn't awkward but it is also not comforting, more like a bit tense.

Jason opens his mouth, but shuts it up quickly. He gives it two more tries but gives up when nothing comes out.

My eyes automatically move to Alec, and my stare remains on him as the look on his face catches my attention.

It's a mix between shock and horror. I hate the look on his face. What I told them couldn't be that horrific, right?

I frown. "Alec?"

His face is pale as he slowly turns to face me.

"What is it?" I ask, my heart pounding. I didn't even understand why his reaction bothered me so much.

He's quiet and just continues staring at me. There is conflict in his eyes. I can see the struggle there. As if he doesn't know whether to believe

whatever is in his mind or not.

I walk towards his desk. "Alec," I snap my fingers near his face to bring back his attention.

He looks up at me, his green eyes shifting between mine with what I could tell is hesitancy.

I repeat my earlier questions. He takes a deep breath, his chest puffing, as if he's preparing himself for battle.

Maybe I shouldn't have asked, because his question leaves me frozen from the inside out.

"Has it crossed your mind that the woman with black wings might just be Nyx's twin sister?"
