When Love Breaks (Josephine)

Chapter 189

Josephine turned around, about to apologize to Ethan for dragging him out like that. But before she could say anything, she noticed he was smiling at her.

She frowned in confusion. "What's so funny?"

Ethan gave a slight smile. "I just saw a different side of you. It was refreshing."

She quickly defended herself and said, "I wasn't trying to be harsh. I just didn't want her to walk all over me."

He chuckled and replied, "Honestly, you were already being pretty nice. Others would've been much harder on her."

"Reall?" She raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "How much worse could it get?"

Ethan took out his phone with a serious expression. "Let me look up some videos of women storming into a mistress' workplace. It usually includes a lot of yelling and cursing. You can use them as reference."

"It's fine," she said and quickly grabbed his wrist to stop him.

Her status as Mrs. Forbes had already put her in the public eye. Combined with her position as a director, she couldn't afford reckless emotional outbursts.

If she really acted that way, the public would never take her side. In fact, it might even make the mistress look like the victim.

Just then, her phone rang. She glanced at the screen and was surprised. It was Zayn.

He was awake?

Josephine answered. Before she could say anything, Zayn's voice came through. "You caused my accident. I'm heavily injured, and you're just walking away?"

"Don't make baseless accusations. Your accident had nothing to do with me. You were the one who wasn't paying attention while driving. Besides, didn't I already bring your family over? What more do you want?" Josephine retorted.

"Family? You're the only family I have. Come back now. We need to talk about the divorce," he demanded.

The thought of being in the same room as Zayn, Nadine, and Yvan repulsed her. She had no desire to go back there at all.

But it had been a long time since she'd last seen Zayn in person. It was better to discuss the divorce

face to face. Otherwise, if thingsnet

spiraled online again, it would. only lead to more unnecessary drama.

With that in mind, she looked up at Ethan and said, "I need to go back. You don't have to wait for me if you're busy."

"I've got nothing going on right now. The only thing I'm waiting for is filming to start," he replied.

Josephine thought his kindness toward her was probably his way of staying in her good graces as the director.

She felt bad to keep him around like.noveldrama

this. But the thought of the three e

people in that hospital room intimidated her. She wasn't sure she could face them alone.

It was much better to have someone by her side.

So, she looked at Ethan gratefully. "Then would you mind coming with me? Thanks."

He smiled. There's no need to be so polite. Aren't we friends? I'll probably need your help in the future too Just don'Dturn me down when the time comes."

"Don't worry. I won't," she promised. "As long as they aren't too unreasonable."

Ethan had helped her a lot lately. She remembered all of it. When the time came, she would make sure to return the favor.

When they returned to the hospital room, the nurses were in the middle of checking on Zayn.

However, the two nurses looked oddly familiar. As Josephine stepped inside, they even gave her a quick wink.

Huh? Wait a minute.

Weren't these the same nurses who had been peeking at Ethan and Yvan earlier?
