When Love Breaks (Josephine)

Yvan found it ridiculous that Ethan would boast to have known Josephine longer.

"Then tell me. Do you even know what she and the guy on that hospital bed are to each other?"

Ethan turned to look out the window. He had lost his patience with Yvan's pointless questions. After a brief pause, he finally responded, "They have nothing to do with each other anymore."

"You're wrong! Their divorce isn't finalized yet. Legally, she's still his wife. And knowing Zayn, this isn't going to be over anytime soon. She's in for a long fight. It'll probably drag on for a year or two at least," Yvan replied.

Yvan had deliberately exaggerated, hoping to intimidate Ethan because he was already getting on his nerves.

But to Yvan's displeasure, Ethan remained completely unfazed. Instead, he met Yvan's gaze calmly and said something that infuriated him even more. "Then I'll help her. I'll be there for her through it all."

Yvan was speechless.

This guy was insane. Josephine didn't even need him.

After all of Yvan's efforts to provoke Ethan, it felt like he was throwing punches in the air. It was completely pointless. Annoyed, he picked up the magazine again, deciding this conversation wasn't worth his time.

Meanwhile, Josephine headed straight to the head nurse's office.

After she briefly explained Zayn's condition, she got straight to the point.

"Honestly, I'm just his ex-wife. It's not really my place to stay. How about I give you his current partner's number? You can call her and have her come take care of him instead."

Worried the nurse might refuse, she quickly added, "I've already handled the admission paperwork and paid the hospital fees."

The nurse glanced at her, surprised. How could a man let go of such a beautiful woman like this?

"Go ahead, give me the number. I'll write it down," the nurse replied.

Josephine quickly gave her Nadine's contact.

The moment it was done, Josephine felt a weight lift off her shoulders. Once Nadine arrived, she could leave without hesitation. Zayn's affairs would no longer be her concern.

As she approached the hospital room, she noticed three young nurses huddled near the door. They were giggling as they peeked through the window on the door.

As Josephine walked closer, their conversation drifted over.

"He's so handsome. I'm so into the one by the window. He's got that quiet, brooding vibe. It's giving me chills!"

"I like the one on the couch. He's got that rebellious confidence. And he just looked over here! Oh my god. I might actually die."

"The guy in the hospital bed is just as dreamy. Even from this angle, his nose is so regal. And his jawline is absolute perfection. He's so masculine!"

So, they were swooning over them.

Josephine found it amusing and a little exasperating. Then again, all three men in that room were ridiculously good-looking.

Even though her marriage to Zayn had been purely contractual, she had always appreciated good looks. If he had been unattractive, she would have never agreed to it.

She'd lose her appetite if she were to see an unattractive face every day.

Zayn might not have been as striking as Yvan or Ethan. But compared to the average guy, he was still exceptionally handsome His strong, authoritative presence only added to his appeal. He carried himself like a man in control despite his young age.

And as for Yvan and Ethan, there was no contest. One had completely captivated her when she was just a young girl. The other, he was about as close to perfection as she could imagine.

"Ahem," Josephine coughed. The door was blocked by the three nurses.

Josephine had no choice but to clear her throat to get their attention.

When the nurses turned and saw her, they immediately stiffened. Their faces flushed with embarrassment as they quickly stepped aside.

However, one of them couldn't help herself and blurted out, "Miss, can I ask you something? What's your relationship with those three gorgeous men? Are you friends? Do you think you could introduce us to them?"
