The Rise of a Master: It Starts With Rejection

Chapter 1007

Felix hastily left a parting comment as he made his escape. "I'm not ready to meet Nerissa yet. I'm outta here!"

Janet covered her mouth, laughing so hard that she did not bother to stop him. She found Felix absolutely adorable.

The Porsche came to a halt, and the driver's door opened. Then, a woman stepped out, wearing flowy lavender-and-white wide-leg pants paired with a sheer gray top.

Her hair was neatly styled up, her skin radiant and flawlessly fair, and her features seemed almost too perfect, like they had been sculpted by an artist.

However, what stood out most were her eyes-cold and sharp yet brimming with life—so captivating that anyone who looked into them might find themselves lost.

If Felix had been there, he would have been stunned by her beauty. While she might not surpass Zara, she could certainly rival his senior apprentices when it came to looks.

"Janet, what are you laughing about? Who was that guy just now?" asked the woman, who happened to be none other than Nerissa, one of the Top Ten Menaces of Martial City. She was also a genius of the Xavier family and a dream girl for countless men.

Janet stifled her giggles and responded telepathically, "That was Felix Zeller."

Nerissa raised an eyebrow. "Felix? Who's Felix?"

"Your fiancé! He's in Martial City now. You even saw him just now, right here in Westville. I was planning to schedule a meeting for you two once you got back, but it looks like fate had other plans."

Nerissa's heart skipped a beat. So, her fiancé-the one she had never met-was already here in Martial City? All she had caught earlier was his silhouette.

"Why did he run away?" she asked curiously.

Janet burst into laughter again. "He said he wasn't ready to meet you yet. Probably because it happened right at our doorstep. I have to say, my future brother-in-law is kind of amusing sometimes."

"I see," Nerissa said with a thoughtful nod. "Alright. Arrange it soon. Now that he's here, I need to greet him properly."

Janet looped her arm through

Nerissa's as the two of them headed

inside. "Are you really sure about

this? I mean, Felix seems great and all, but strength-wise... Let's be honest, he's nowhere near your level.

"Heck, he's not even close to mine! The only thing remarkable about him is that forbidden technique he's cultivating. Even standing right next to him, I couldn't sense his power level.

"Still, if I had to guess, he's probably capped at True Blood Realm at best."

Nerissa playfully pinched Janet's nose. "I've told you before, unless he rejects me, I'm going to be his wife. End of discussion."

Janet could

not

resist adding one more comment, saying, "But Westley has been missing for three months now. No one in the family would dare oppose this marriage if he were still around. You know what that means, right?"

Nerissa's expression darkened for a brief moment before she said quietly, "We'll

deal with that when the time comes. For now, the rules stand."

...

Meanwhile, in a dimly lit

underground chamber within

Westville's Brennan family estate, Kendrick stood silently. Flickering candlelight cast shadows around

as he tried to make out the

figure seated 30 feet ahead.

Despite his efforts, he could not get a clear look, a sign that the other person was

on a far higher level than him. Finally, he broke the silence.

He asked, "You contacted me first, and now, you sit there quietly. What's the meaning of this?"

After a long pause, a voice echoed from the shadows, "I need to confirm something before we proceed. If our goals conflict, this partnership is over."

"Please, speak your mind," Kendrick said eagerly. Anything related to Felix had his full attention.

"If we kill Felix, I'm taking his head as my trophy. Do you have any objections?" Hearing this, Kendrick exhaled in relief. "No objections at all."
