Chapter 452 Midnight Concerns and Unresolved Feuds
Sawyer firmly grabbed Freya's arm. "When I saw you storm out of Nathaniel's car, I went to get my car and follow you. But I lost track of you at the traffic light after waiting a few minutes."
Freya wanted to ignore him, but Sawyer's grip was relentless. He angrily asked, "Are you really going back to him? Even after he tried to kill you?"
Freya paused and looked at Sawyer before laughing softly. "He wouldn't do that to me."
Feeling overwhelmed and wanting only to rest, Freya was torn.
Did she trust Nathaniel so deeply that she believed everything he did was justifiable?
Sawyer felt a wave of frustration. He let go of Freya and sighed deeply.
Freya thanked him, and, though she was calmer, she realized she still needed Nathaniel's help with her brother's situation.
The issues with the Gomez family felt like a persistent thorn, causing intense pain even with the slightest movement.
But in this world, there were many intolerable things; sometimes, even when it was hard to bear, she still had to endure them.noveldrama
Sawyer, feeling unusually overwhelmed, abruptly pulled Freya back into the car, showing a rare display of uncontrolled emotion.
Freya was surprised by his roughness, given that Sawyer had always been a gentleman despite his playboy reputation.
"Sawyer!" she exclaimed.
"Get in the car!" Sawyer demanded, pulling her inside and getting in himself.
He added, "I'm not so petty as to leave you on the street."
Freya, with no money and her belongings taken, had no choice but to accept. Sawyer then drove her back to their hotel before heading off to handle his own affairs.
After all, with his mother's nursing home being discovered, he had to find a new place for her.
The only weakness of the second young master of the Lloyds was his mother who had suffered too many hardships and setbacks, and he loathed anyone who tried to@se her to control him. en
This time, the feud with Nathaniel was completely and irrevocably.
As Sawyer drove through the night, a black sedan stopped at the side door of a church on the other side of the city.
Theoccupants of the car didn't
immediately get out. Luna, dressed
in black casual wear, stared
intensely at the church shrouded in darkness and slapped the steering wheel in frustration.
She had been so close to success. Just a little more, and she would have been able to smash Freya to pieces.
Hudson needed to keep Sawyer occupied, Koen had tasks at headquarters, and Ozzy stayed in Saeville to handle the Lloyds and other families.
Luna had been reassigned to Pontenero to handle Nathaniel's affairs there.
Nathaniel, having argued with Freya earlier, was probably so enraged that he forgot Luna's past infatuation with him. After all, Luna now had her own fiancé, who was about to marry her soon.
Nathaniel wasn't that narcissistic. He regarded Luna as just an ordinary underling.
Seeing Freya storm out of his car, he was still fuming but decided to call Luna, who had already arrived in Pontenero, instructing her to find Freya.
Given how late it was, any mishap would be hard to explain.
Yes, at such a late hour, he was worried about potential mishap even after arguing with her.
With a cold, icy gaze, Luna waited until a priest emerged from the church and walked up to her.
What do you think?
