Even as terror seized Plum, she could only shake her head repeatedly as tears rolled down her cheeks.

But before the youth reached her, someone kicked the door and strode in, snapping coolly, "What a mook. I guess bullying ladies is all you can do!"

The youth was left furious at his insult. "Who the fuck are you?!"

He turned toward the beggar, who did not even dare to look him in the eye and left.

Plum screamed, "Help me!"

Frank laughed. "Don't worry I will save you, and then make him pay!"

"Make me pay?"

The youth smiled in wry amusement and studied Frank. "You have a special physique and a presence-I see potential for martial arts, and I guess that's why you're brave enough to come.

"That said, even if you're one in a million, there are thousands of people like you out there. Did you really think you could win?

"Prodigies? I won't lie that's the bare minimum it takes to face me, and it still depends if I'm interested!"

While he was arrogant and belittled Frank, the youth's tone changed soon enough. "That said, I am a man who admires talent. The fact that you got here means you're sharper than the rest.

Plum despaired once more-she did not like to brag, but a woman as beautiful as her was the stuff of dreams and irresistible for men.

That was when Frank disappointed her. "I'm not interested in her. I'm interested in you-tell me, who's your boss? Aren't they afraid of reprisals, running a human-trafficking ring?"

The youth laughed. "To be honest, I'm at the top of the food chain. My men work across the country too-if I wanted it, I just have to make a call, and everyone you ever cared about would be resting in pieces, let alone you."

Frank chuckled, shaking his head. "No way. You can't be the mastermind... Or perhaps I should put it this way: the mastermind is hoping you think you are!"

He was not just talking out of his butt either-the youth might show ambition, but he obviously did not have the ability.

The youth alone would not keep a massive syndicate together. To put simply, the youth was just a diversion.

"In that case, it's time to prove my strength!"

As the youth finished, he whipped out his phone and dialed a number.

A dozen goons soon stormed in and surrounded Frank.

Plum promptly cried out in warning, "Watch out! They're very powerful, and you must―"

Before she finished, Frank bellowed at the goons, "Enough!"

In an instant, the dozenish goons were knocked out by an invisible power!

Both Plum and the youth were shocked.

Those dozenish goons were Ascendant-ranked individuals and immune against guns, so how did that brat get so powerful?!

Still, the youth soon recovered and charged at Frank excitedly. "I knew you were different, and I was right! Come on, kid-do that again, don't hold back!"
