Chapter 310
Dahlia's legs were paralyzed, unable to hold her up. They lay limp on the floor like a discarded rag as Evelyn dragged her to the corner. With one hand tangled in Dahlia's hair and the other gripping her neck, Evelyn slammed Dahlia's head against the wall, terror etched in her eyes.
"Thud." The pain was blinding. Stars danced before Dahlia's eyes, and though her forehead didn't bleed, her vision blurred into darkness. Before she could catch her breath, Evelyn tossed her to the floor like a ragdoll. Dahlia landed awkwardly, sprawling on the ground, glaring up at Evelyn with eyes blazing in fury. She tried to curse Evelyn, but her voice was muffled, only grunts escaping her gagged mouth.noveldrama
It hit her then—her mouth was gagged. She tried to tear the towel away, needing to call for the security guards to restrain Evelyn. She was determined to handle this woman. But as soon as she lifted her hand, Evelyn caught it firmly.
Evelyn twisted Dahlia's arms behind her, binding them with a torn piece of skirt fabric. With her hands tied and legs useless, Dahlia was helpless, completely at Evelyn's mercy. Panic surged through her as she realized her predicament. Ignoring her humiliation, she squirmed desperately, trying to inch her way to the door. She needed to make noise, to catch the attention of the guards outside. Just as she reached the door, ready to throw herself against it, a foot lashed out. It was Evelyn. As Dahlia lunged, Evelyn kicked her hard, sending her sprawling face down, like a discarded ragdoll. Evelyn calmly turned to lock the door of the private room. As she did, Dahlia made another attempt to crawl to the door, but Evelyn was quick, kicking her back with force.
Kick after kick, each blow landed with brutal strength, leaving Dahlia writhing in pain on the floor, utterly powerless. Her eyes turned bloodshot with rage. Two years had passed, but the tables had turned. Evelyn was now in control, and Dahlia was at her mercy, a target for humiliation.
Evelyn looked down at Dahlia, meeting her furious gaze with a mocking smile. She crouched slowly, gripping Dahlia's chin, her eyes cold and unyielding. "Dahlia, you really couldn't wait, could you?"
Earlier that day, Evelyn had shown up unexpectedly. By nightfall, Dahlia was already eager to provoke her. Evelyn knew exactly what Dahlia was plotting. Two years ago, Dahlia discovered Evelyn's battle with severe depression. She knew Evelyn's greatest vulnerability was Charlie and had exploited it, using Charlie's ashes to manipulate her, forcing her to kneel, to kowtow, constantly pushing Evelyn's emotional limits until she shattered her last shred of sanity with the cruelest truth about Charlie. All in an attempt to drive Evelyn to the brink.
Two years ago, their confrontation ended with Dahlia's plans backfiring, leaving her with paralyzed legs. Now, two years later, Dahlia was trying the same old tricks, hoping to trigger Evelyn's illness and unhinge her emotions, determined to ruin her peace. But what Dahlia didn't know was that Evelyn had long since recovered.
