The Billionaire's Forbidden Longing

Chapter 310 Fight Back

Bernard woke up on the third day after his surgery. Byron, who had been by his side the whole time, immediately called for the doctor when he saw Bernard stir.noveldrama

Soon, Connor arrived with his team, but Byron blocked him at the door. "Connor, you can't go in there."

Connor asked, "Why not? I'm Mr. Faith's primary doctor!"

Byron explained, "Connor, there was a complication during the surgery. This is serious. If I were you, I'd wait outside until you're called. You don't want to risk pissing off Mr. Faith. It won't end well for you."

Connor shot Byron a cold look. "Byron, you're from the Bishop family. You should know the Faith family will never trust anyone from the Bishop family."

Byron stayed calm, meeting Connor's gaze steadily. "Connor, when you came back from Novaria, you brought some big medical advancements to Eldoria. But stealing is still stealing. Without real skills, you should be more careful. The Faith family might not get along with the Bishop family, but at least we can coexist. If Ms. Bennett hadn't stepped in the other day, do you think you'd still be alive?"

Connor felt humiliated but had no choice but to heed Byron's warning and stayed outside the room.

Inside the room, the hospital director personally examined Bernard and found his recovery to be excellent. "Mr. Faith, it seems the Ms. Bennett you brought in is truly exceptional. Her medical skills are outstanding. She completed such a difficult surgery in just an hour and a half. We doctors are all very impressed! I wonder if Ms. Bennett could stay in Eldoria to teach. It would be a significant leap forward for our medical community."

Bernard, still weak, leaned back against his pillow and frowned at the director. "Connor didn't perform my surgery?"

The director hesitated before replying, "Connor encountered complications during the surgery. You had severe bleeding on the operating table. Ms. Bennett stepped in and saved your life, performing the surgery flawlessly."

Bernard's expression darkened. He had always suspected that Connor's reputation was undeserved, but since Connor had brought back valuable medical formulas and benefited Eldoria, he hadn't paid much attention. However, nearly losing his life because of Connor was unacceptable.

Bernard said, "If he's not fit for the job, he needs to leave Tranquil Hospital. I'll speak with Allison myself about staying. I can't guarantee she'll agree. Remember, she's a guest of Eldoria. Ensure her safety and don't let anyone approach her without my permission. Got it?"

The director nodded and left the room. He saw Connor and instructed the security guards, "Mr. Blake has been dismissed. Please leave Tranquil Hospital immediately."

Connor was outraged and began shouting in the hallway. "You can't do this to me! I've dedicated my life to Eldoria. How can you just fire me?"

The director said, "You know why, Mr. Blake. Being a doctor requires real skills, not just talk. It's best if you leave on your own terms."

Fuming, Connor stormed to his office, feeling the weight of the whispers and stares from his colleagues. Once so proud, he now felt utterly humiliated.

Back in his office, his anger grew. The Faith family was known for their coldness, which was why he had gone undercover in Novaria to secure leverage for himself in Eldoria. But all he had managed to obtain were some medical formulas. His self-taught medical skills were insufficient for complex treatments.

"Allison, if I'm going down, you're coming with me," he muttered.

Connor put on a mask, took a syringe filled with a mysterious substance from his desk drawer, and quietly left his office.

Allison was reading in her room, bored without her phone. She had requested some books to pass the time.

When Connor entered, Allison immediately tensed, gripping her book tightly.

Allison asked, "Connor, what do you want?"

Connor replied, "Ms. Bennett, I need a favor."

Allison closed her book. "What is it?"

Connor said, "I want you to speak to Mr. Faith and ask him to let me stay at Tranquil Hospital as your assistant."

Allison sighed. Connor's shamelessness knew no bounds. "Connor, you want to continue stealing from me? Even if you had the talent, which you don't, you betrayed my mentor. Do you think I'd agree to that?"

"Whether you agree or not, you will. If you refuse, we'll both go down together." Connor brandished the syringe. Allison knew it contained something dangerous. As he lunged at her, she threw her book at him.

The syringe fell to the floor. Allison jumped off the bed and kicked Connor out the door.

The guards outside were startled. Before they could react, Connor shouted, "Arrest her! She's trying to kill me!"

Allison raised an eyebrow. She had underestimated Connor's audacity. "Kill you? What do you have that's worth my effort? The formulas you brought back are my discarded trash. If it weren't for me, Mr. Faith would be dead. You're nothing but a fraud. You can't kill me, but I can easily kill you."

Allison lunged, grabbed the syringe, and injected Connor. His screams echoed through the hallway. "Help! I don't want to die!"

Allison didn't spare him a glance and returned to her room. The guards, stunned, quickly went to find Byron. "Mr. Bishop, there's trouble. Connor attacked Ms. Bennett, but she fought back and injected him with something."

Byron hurried to Allison's room, relieved to find her unharmed. "Ms. Bennett, what happened?"

Allison explained, "I don't know what came over Connor. He barged in, demanding I plead with Mr. Faith to keep him as my assistant. When I refused, he tried to inject me with something. In the struggle, he ended up injecting himself."

Byron took a deep breath, studying Allison. She had just taken a life without flinching. Clearly, she was not to be trifled with.

Byron said, "I'll inform Mr. Faith. Be prepared for his reaction."

Allison smiled and asked Byron for paper and a pen. "I'll give him a free formula to

help his heart recover faster. It's a special medication, and the patent is mine. Consider it a gift."
