Chapter 672
Until Greta's patience wore thin, she couldn't hold back any longer and dropped her polite facade. With a hint of irritation, she shot a question at Lizzy, "What's Nathalie's deal? I've been waiting forever, and she's just dodging me?"
Lizzy, with an air of arrogance, replied, "My sister's swamped with work and isn't meeting anyone these days. If Mrs. Dawson is in such a rush, she's free to leave."
Greta needed Nathalie's help, so walking away empty-handed wasn't an option. She decided to grit her teeth and wait it out.
It was the middle of the night when Nathalie finally showed up, just as Greta was nodding off.
Nathalie, in a thoughtful gesture, handed Greta a mug of herbal tea. "Here's a little something to perk you up. Want some?"
Knowing full well that she needed all her wits about her for the upcoming conversation, Greta accepted the tea without a second thought and drained it in
one go.
"So, my little sister is the Stewart family's favorite now, huh? Hard to even get a minute with you," Greta remarked, her words tinged with bitterness.
Nathalie glanced at the tea stains on Greta's lips and, out of the blue, asked, "How's your health been, sis?"
For a moment, Greta was thrown off. Nathalie, with her sharp tongue but soft heart, seemed genuinely concerned. This unexpected question warmed Greta's heart a little. "You know my health's never been great."
"Well, that's good to know," Nathalie replied, almost nonchalantly.
Greta blinked in confusion. "Nathalie, what are you getting at? Does my lousy health make you happy?"
Nathalie casually dropped the bombshell, "The cup you drank from? Yeah, it's from the infectious diseases department at the hospital."
Greta's scream echoed through the room. "What? Are you out of your mind? How could you do this to me?"
Ignoring her, Nathalie's expression shifted, and she asked abruptly, "Greta, how did you find out about Nathan's secret?"
Greta, caught off guard, blurted, "It was the Eternal Loop. I saw his creator there."
Realization hit Greta like a lightning bolt, and she stared at Nathalie. "Why am I telling you this?"
Nathalie's eyes lit up with a wild hope. "Who created Nathan?"
Greta crossed her arms defiantly. "Why should I tell you?"
Desperate, Nathalie grabbed her arm. "Please, tell me!"
Greta shook her off. "I really don't know. The scenes in the Eternal Loop were all jumbled. All I saw was Nathan thanking a shadowy figure, saying, 'Thanks for creating me."
Nathalie whispered to herself, "If I find that person, maybe Nathan could come back."
Greta was incredulous. "He's just a puppet. No thoughts, no soul. Why all this fuss to bring him back?"
Nathalie cried out, distraught, "No, you're wrong. He has thoughts. He has a soul." Greta was taken aback by Nathalie's fervor.
"He's just a bunch of code. His creator programmed everything-height, weight, skin tone... filled him with human-like expressions, actions, and words. It's all just data."
But Nathalie wouldn't hear it. "No, he's real. He's my Nathan." Otherwise, why would his every word feel so genuine and touching?
Greta looked at her with a mix of pity and disbelief. "You're losing it."
Suddenly, Nathalie's rage bubbled over. "Was it you who spilled his secret?"noveldrama
"Yes, it was. So what?" Greta
admitted unfazed. "Even as an At
his learning skills were off the
charts. He messed with the Capital's big families and their money-making schemes. He had to go."
"Who ended him?"
"The Rowland and Stewart families teamed up. The Stewarts lured you back under false pretenses, white the Rowlands hired top assassins to lay in wait outside the Stewart estate."
What do you think?
