Nathan's face was as white as a sheet.

Nathalie had morphed back into that vengeful demon. But she wasn't the same meek, defenseless Nellie she used to be. Now, she was the leading lady of the Stewart family's second branch, wielding both wealth and power. If she decided to go all out for revenge, they were in for a rough ride.

The doctor gave the usual spiel: "Sweetheart, even holding a glass of water can make your arm sore after a while. You've got to learn to let go and forget those unpleasant feelings. Forgiving others can make your life a whole lot easier."

But Nathalie shot back, "Doc, don't tell someone to be kind unless you've walked in their shoes."

The doctor sighed, clearly exasperated with such a stubborn patient. "I'll prescribe you some meds. Take them and see if they help."

Nathalie nodded. "Thanks, doctor."

Lizzy, however, looked at Nathalie with a pout, whining, "Sister-"

Nathalie quickly played along with the doctor: "Doctor, I'll take your advice and work on processing those bad vibes."

The doctor beamed, "Glad to hear it."

As Nathalie left the hospital room, she bumped into Cameron.

Her dark stare bore into him, making Cameron's heart race with unease.

"Nathalie, I didn't realize how much his leaving would hit you. I'm sorry... I..." he fumbled.

Nathalie, however, replied casually, "No worries."

Cameron hesitated. "Does that mean you forgive me?"

Nathalie unexpectedly added, "What I've lost, I'll get back from you twice over." Her voice was icy cold.

Cameron paused for a moment, then hurried after her. "Nathalie, Nathalie—"

Nathalie stopped and turned, her glare sharp enough to cut.

Her eyes looked like they could stab him a thousand times over.

Cameron trembled. "Nathalie, it's better to mend fences than to let them rot."

Nathalie sneered, "How the mighty prince lowers himself to make peace with a pauper like me."

Cameron's expression was a mix of emotions. "Nathalie, let's bury the hatchet. For Nina's sake, at least."

Nathalie gritted her teeth. "Nathan's gone. And you're to blame. Making peace with you would be betraying Nathan."

Cameron was speechless, shocked by the intense hatred in her eyes.

"Nathalie, get real. He was just a pawn."

Nathalie's voice was full of fury. "A pawn is a hundred, a thousand times better than a backstabbing snake like you. At least he was loyal to his family."

Cameron's face went pale.

He realized fully now that by taking Nathalie's kidney and conning her into

marriage, he'd destroyed the noble image she had of him.
