Charmaine shrugged dismissively. "No need to apologize. I've never cared about the opinions of strangers."

Her words were light, but they landed heavy on Zayn's chest, leaving him with a

dull pressure.

Charmaine didn't want to engage with him any further. She grabbed her takeout and shut the door to her office, quickly finishing her meal before taking a much- needed break. She still had patients to see in the afternoon.

When her break ended and the alarm went off, she stepped out to the washroom and splashed some water on her face to clear her mind. She noticed Zayn was still there. Without sparing him a glance, she walked past him.

When she returned, she found that the takeout trash she had left on the desk had been cleaned up, and the patient files were neatly organized.

Charmaine silently curled her lips, but her inner calm remained undisturbed.

After her shift, Charmaine took a cab to Micah's place and ordered groceries to be delivered to Rex's house through her phone.

The taxi stopped in front of the spa. Charmaine walked straight into the wing building, hitting the button to the top floor.

The entire floor was thick with the smell of alcohol, and the hallway was eerily empty. She walked with purpose toward the last room.

As she placed her hand on the door lock, Charmaine suddenly paused, turned, and locked eyes with Zayn, who had followed her.

Charmaine spoke sharply, "Do you know who's inside?"

The question took Zayn by surprise, leaving him a bit confused.

He had been following Robin, hoping to find a good moment to apologize sincerely, with no ill intentions.

But somehow, he found himself here, following Charmaine.

It was as if some unseen force had guided him to follow Robin.

When his eyes met Robin's dull, unreadable gaze, Zayn realized he was rade. His expression shifted several times, and he muttered, "Sorry, Dr. Robin, I didn't mean to disturb you."

He paused and answered her unspoken question, "There must be an important patient in there, right? Otherwise, you wouldn't be here yourself."

"Why are you just standing at the door?"

Micah stepped out of the room just then. As the door swung open, Zayn caught a brief glimpse of the person lying in the bed.

He didn't see the patient's face, instinctively avoiding it out of respect.

But he could clearly see that the patient was hooked up to several machines, relying on them to stay alive.

Zayn was stunned. He hadn't expected such a critically ill patient to be staying at a wellness spa.

When Micah saw Zayn at the door, he raised an eyebrow, scanning him quickly before crossing his arms. and smirking. "Well, well, if it isn't Zayn Nelson. What a surprise."

Zayn frowned and studied Micah for several moments. "Do we know each other?"

Micah handed over a business card and said, "Micah Miller. We met briefly at the Goldie Institute in Yasaria. You were there studying under Mr. Smith. It's fine if you don't remember me."

Zayn took the card and looked at the information.

Micah smiled and added, "Since we're former schoolmates, I'll give you a 10% discount if you bring your girlfriend here for some beauty treatments."

"No thanks."

Zayn instinctively glanced at Charmaine. "Dr. Robin, I won't take up more of your time. We can talk another day."

He bowed politely before quickly turning to leave.

As he entered the elevator, Micah tossed his hair back and smiled even more mischievously. "Does Zayn know that Milo, the one his family has been desperately searching for, is lying in this room?"

Charmaine shrugged. "I asked, but he clearly didn't want to know the answer, so I didn't say anything."noveldrama

Micah widened his eyes in disbelief. When he saw that Charmaine wasn't joking, he fell silent.

After a long moment, he shook his head and grinned nervously. "Hey, you really know how to mess with people. Lucky for me, I got on your good side early. Otherwise, I wouldn't know what kind of trouble I'd be in!"

Charmaine shot him a frustrated look. His words made her out to be some kind of villain.

She passed him and pushed open the door to the room.

Milo lay quietly in bed, looking much thinner than he had been months ago before his accident.

His face was pale, and his features had sunken in. Only a faint trace of color remained on his lips, just enough to make him appear somewhat alive.
