Mission: From Divorcee to Millionaire

Chapter 716

Blaine threw a glance at the guy across the room and leaned in to whisper to Selena.

"That's Rhett, the Harris family's youngest. He grew up overseas and just got back. Bet he'll be stepping into his dad's shoes soon."

The Harris family practically ran Northtown, with Rhett's father being the top dog in town. Rhett was set for a bright future, no doubt about it.

For Blaine, making his mark in Northtown meant rubbing shoulders with folks like Rhett.noveldrama

Selena flashed a warm smile.

"Of course, it's nice to meet you."

Her smile was like the first hint of spring, melting away the winter chill and bringing everything to life.

Rhett was smitten.

After spending years abroad, he was over the typical blond-haired, blue-eyed crowd. Standing before him now was Selena, a classic beauty straight out of a painting.

His heart skipped a beat.

Young and full of life, Rhett wasn't like those seasoned businessmen, always calculating their every move. He was straightforward.

If he liked someone, he'd go for it.

Rhett eagerly found topics to chat about with Selena.

Blaine, with his sharp instincts, saw Rhett's instant attraction to his niece. With a sly smile, he made a polite exit, leaving them to it.

Over the past year, plenty of men had tried their luck with Selena, but she turned them all down, holding out for Everett.

Now that Everett was back, his behavior was downright disappointing. Blaine figured it was time to introduce Selena to some decent guys.

No use wasting time on Everett, that loser.

Besides, with Selena's charm, finding a good man should be a piece of cake.

As the night wrapped up, Selena and Rhett swapped numbers.

On the drive home, Blaine, a bit tipsy from a few drinks, loosened his tie, rested

his chin on his hand, and looked at Selena, his voice easygoing.

"How'd it go with young Mr. Harris?"

Selena kept her eyes on the road. "It was alright."

Blaine shook his head with a touch of exasperation but still advised, "Rhett's a solid guy. He's been

abroad for ages and hasn't gonnet

wild like some rich kids. He's decent-you should think about getting to know him."

Selena turned to him, straightforwardly asking, "Do you need the Harris family's connections?"

"I do."

Blaine was upfront, but then he playfully tapped her forehead, pretending to be annoyed. "But don't sell me short. I wouldn't use you to make connections. I'll get what need on my own. I'm just looking out for you."

"I know you're still hung up on Everett, but with things the way they are, how long are you gonna wait for him? Selena, I don't want to push you into another marriage. I just want you to be happy and not feel stuck."

With that, he affectionately ruffled her hair.

Just like when she was little.

He used to hold her all the time when she was a baby.

Though he wasn't much older, in Blaine's mind, Selena would always be the little girl he needed to protect.

He couldn't stand to see her hurt.

Selena's eyes shimmered with tears.

"Uncle, I get it. Don't worry, I know what I'm doing."

As the car neared Irwin Estate, Blaine noticed her teary eyes and sighed. He

pulled out a handkerchief and gently wiped her tears away.

Just moments ago, he saw her as a little girl; now he playfully teased her, "You're

a grown woman, a mom of two, and here you are crying. Aren't you embarrassed?"
