Chapter 1488
"I mean..."
"Alright, no need to explain," Fiona cut her off.
Fiona was done with all the talking. Once the half-hour was up, she started to gently pull out the long, slender acupuncture needles from Allen's body, like they were delicate embroidery tools.
Christina watched with wide eyes, swallowing nervously. She rushed over, grabbing Fiona's wrist with a tight grip, demanding, "What have you done to him?"
Could Allen really survive having such a long needle inside him? It was a terrifying thought!
Even if he survived, he'd be left with some serious damage, right?
Fiona, annoyed by people pretending to know it all, gave her a swift kick to the side.
"Ms. Fiona is performing acupuncture, a time-honored practice of alternative medicine that's been around for thousands of years. Her skills are exceptional. Just wait until Mr. Allen wakes up," the director intervened, stepping between Fiona and Christina.
His words were balanced, but it was clear he was backing Fiona.
"Director, that long needle could be deadly! Allen's body isn't some high school science project!"
With those words, the director's face turned stern as she fixed Christina with a cold glare.noveldrama
Did she really need a harsh tone to finally get it?
"Christina, if you don't know medicine, don't question Ms. Fiona's skills. If you doubt her, feel free to take Mr. Allen away right now. Whether he lives or dies has nothing to do with our hospital, and don't even think about blaming us."
Christina was visibly shaken, standing there silently for a long moment.
She knew Allen's situation better than anyone. The chance to save him thrilled her more than Allen himself, but could Fiona really pull it off?
She regretted giving him that medication without considering the consequences. If she'd known, she'd have done things differently...
"Director, I hope you're right," Christina muttered, shaking her hand loose and getting up from the floor.
Fiona didn't bother acknowledging her anymore. People like Christina needed a reality check.
Pretending to know it all and then questioning those who actually do!
"Can you let go of my arm now?" Fiona glanced at her, then at her own arm. Was Christina a bit unhinged?
If need be, the psych ward was just around the corner; it wouldn't take long to check her in.
Despite her dislike for Fiona, Christina had no other options now.
Reluctantly, Christina let go, huffing, but her eyes stayed glued to Fiona's hands.
Not only that, she whipped out her phone to record, as if Fiona might do something to Allen.
As the needles were removed one by one, Allen slowly began to wake
from his deep sleep. When Fiol neg
pulled out the last needle, Allen shot awake with a start.
His eyes fixed on the ceiling, like someone roused from a deep, long slumber.
His breathing quickened for a
moment, and then he was fully alert,
turning his head slowly to look at
Fiona and the others. His eyes were clear, without a trace of the earlier fatigue.
He felt more awake than ever, like someone who'd just had the best sleep of their life. He climbed off the bed, stretching his arms and degs with ease.
He felt even better than before his nightmares began.
He looked at Fiona with gratitude, saying, "I feel completely healed, full of energy and enthusiasm."
If someone asked him to pull an all-nighter to finish a new song right now, he'd be all in.
Christina quickly came over, examining him closely. Once she confirmed that Allen was indeed better, a sly smile spread across her face.
What do you think?
