Chapter 1466
Keaton was beyond done with talking to Megan. Spending too much time chatting with someone like her was just a drain on his brain cells.
"Move it, move it."
With a scowl, Keaton shoved Megan aside. "Get out of my space. We can't even have a decent conversation. I don't have time for someone who lacks basic values. Working with you is an insult to my intelligence."
Megan's expression darkened. This old geezer had some nerve speaking to her
that way.
Ha.
He was just acting out because he'd been caught, feeling guilty and now throwing a fit, right?
Megan chuckled coldly, deciding it wasn't worth continuing the squabble. She headed back to her desk and sat down.
Keaton's behavior would only end up biting him in the end.
The monthly exams were looming. Could Tyler really pull off those high scores?
Keaton clutched Tyler's test paper as he made his way to the classroom to find him.
The teacher was mid-lesson, but Keaton wasn't bothered. He explained that he needed a word with Tyler, and the teacher allowed Tyler to step out.
"Why does Keaton look so grim?"
Everyone was curious. "He looks like he's lost his best friend. Did Tyler really bomb the test?"
"But that doesn't add up. Even if the results were bad, it shouldn't be that severe." During their initial placement exams, even when they bombed, Keaton was all smiles, encouraging them to hang in there and not lose hope.
Just how badly did Tyler have to do for Keaton to wear that face?
"When I watched Tyler work on the test earlier, he was so into it, writing like crazy. I thought he was some kind of whiz kid. Who would've guessed?" Fiona pondered, watching Tyler's back as he walked away, a knowing smile playing on her lips. "How do you know it's because someone did poorly? Maybe he aced it."
At that, the people in front and behind her turned to face her.
"Fiona, do you even know our class's reputation? Someone with decent grades wouldn't end up here, right?"
"Just like you, Fiona, you're not exactly the class star."
She never does homework and always copies from others. When solving problems, she rolls dice.
"Ah."
Fiona laughed, waving her hand dismissively. "Yeah, I'm just your average underachiever."
...
Keaton pulled Tyler into the hallway, handing over his test paper with a look of grave concern. "Tyler, I just need to know, did you do this test all on
nown?"
It was class time, and the hallway was pretty much empty. Keaton made sure to
keep his voice low.
"Don't get me wrong, I'm not doubting you. Just asking."
Worried Tyler might misunderstand, Keaton tried to put him at ease.
"Yeah, I did it by myself." Tyler nodded, looking a bit confused. "Why? Is there
something wrong?"
Something wrong?
Oh, there was definitely a big issue!
Keaton clutched his chest, trying to keep it together before continuing "Didn't you drop out in eighth grade? Didn't you find these papers a bit challenging?"
He chose his words carefully, speaking with great caution.
"No."
Tyler shook his head honestly. "Mr. Keaton, these papers aren't that
tough, I'd even say they're prenet
straightforward. I handled them just fine." noveldrama
Not that tough!
Pretty straightforward!
How could he say that so easily!
These papers were tough enough to stump even the top students in Class A!
What do you think?
